Assen Travel guide
Assen : Michelin's recommendations
Assen owes its existence to a convent founded there in the 13C. It has become a modern and spacious town and is located close to pleasant woods (Asserbos) and a region rich in megalithic monuments. Assen was chosen as capital of Drenthe in 1809, during the reign of Louis Bonaparte, because of its central location.
