All the pedestrian streets converge upon this vast esplanade, which provides an attractive view over the River Grande. Church Opposite the town hall, at the corner of the Reigerstraat, this is an attractive house with a steeped gable. Also in the square, at No 19 stands Het Wit Lam, an the former meat market and the headquarters of the crossbowmen's guild. The facade's pediment (1772) depicts St George slaying the dragon.
