A fishing port located at the mouth of the western Scheldt, Breskens is the departure point for the ferry to Vlissingen. The town also has a marina. From the "Promenade" for pedestrians along the top of the dunes, between the fishing port and the ferry terminal to the west, there are attractive views over the beaches of the Scheldt and you can make out Vlissingen and its belfry.
