Culemborg : Michelin's recommendations

This old town, which received its charter in 1318, became the centre of an earldom in 1555. Some ruined walls have been preserved. Culemborg is the birthplace of Jan van Riebeeck (17C), founder of the Cape Colony for the East India Company (1652).
