Here, this canal, shaded by lime trees, its hump-backed bridges and its elegant façades go to make up an exquisite scene. Notice, at no. 39, the pretty East India Company house, the Renaissance façade (around 1520) of the Delfland Regional Waterways Authority at no. 167, and the Arms of Savoy façade of no. 169, which houses the local authority archives. There is an attractive view of the canal from the Nieuwstraat Bridge.
