This large, leaning edifice, built in 1528 in the late Gothic style, was completed in 1643 by the addition of a high perron, which is above some arches. The roof, flanked by four turrets, is crowned by a wooden pinnacle. On the North side façade, notice an enormous hanging cauldron in which, in former times, counterfeiters were apparently boiled! Today, the building houses the De Waag Historical Museum, the collections of which present the history of Deventer (products of excavations, paintings, drawings and artefacts).
