Doesburg : Michelin's recommendations
This old stronghold of the County of Zutphen, located at the confluence of the IJssel and the Oude IJssel, was once a prosperous trading town: it became part of the Hanseatic League in 1447. This pretty town in the Achterhoek has kept many traces of its past, especially the remains of the ramparts which date from 1630 (to the south) and several Gothic and Renaissance façades.
