Eindhoven : Michelin's recommendations

A large and constantly growing industrial centre, Eindhoven today is the fifth largest town in the country. The textile and tobacco (cigars) industries which were set up there at the start of the 19C gave way one hundred years later to the Philips company and, from 1928, to the Van Doorne car factories (or DAF). By virtue of its economic importance, the town was bombed several times during the Second World War and most of its historic buildings were destroyed.
