This imposing building, a remnant of the town enceinte that once overlooked the entrance to the port, today houses a restaurant. The enceinte consists of a semi-circular tower and an attached structure with a door. The bells, the work of Hemony, are one of the better carillons in the country. From the top, a beautiful panorama of old Enkhuizen, its harbour, the IJsselmeer and, in the distance, Frisia. At the same time, the quay to the south of the tower offers a pretty view to the east of the port basin and the backs of the houses.
