Haarlem : Michelin's recommendations
Located on the Spaarne, Haarlem is the historic capital of the county of Holland and the main town in the province of Noord Hollande. Fortified in the 12C, it was the residence of the counts of Holland. It is also the centre of a large region for the cultivation of flowers. The painter Frans Hals (around 1582-1666) spent his childhood here.
