Harlingen : Michelin's recommendations

Once a great whaling port, Harlingen is located at the end of the Harinxma canal. Today it is a port sending dairy products to England, the departure point for the islands of Terschelling and Vlieland and a large shrimp fishing centre. The town has two marinas. Industries have been set up to the north and the east of Harlingen. It also has a river navigation school and an institute for teaching ship building.
