On the façades of these houses are friezes in relief illustrating the naval battle of 1573 in which Admiral Bossu was defeated. The façade on the left is typical of the old shops of Hoorn. Its ground floor is topped with tall, narrow bay windows, separated by carved wooden pilasters.
