This Baroque building, the former headquarters of the State College, dates back to 1632. Its tall façade, with coloured shields and cornices topped with lions, is noteworthy. The museum houses fine collections of archaeology, decorative arts, furniture (17C-18C) and souvenirs from the Orient brought back by the United East India Company. It also contains a section dedicated to the marine activities of Hoorn, where you should note particularly the portrait of Admiral De Ruyter by Ferdinand Bol.
