A replica of the Batavia (a ship of the East India Company built at Amsterdam in 1628 and sunk off the Australian coast) was constructed here in 1985. Once finished, the ship was launched and the shipyard became a craft centre for naval construction and you can visit the workshops as well both the insides and outsides of the boats.
