This park is on the site of a residence built by Charlemagne which is called the "falcon's tower" because Louis the Debonair, the son of Charlemagne, used it to breed hunting falcons. The palace was rebuilt by the Emperor Frederick Barbarossa in the 12C and was destroyed in the 18C.
