An elegant avenue planted with a double row of lime trees in the 17th Century, Boompjes is today a modern thoroughfare with numerous cafés and restaurants, apartment and office buildings. Three towers (Boompjestorens), designed by H. Klunder, dominate the area. At night the red, yellow and blue columns of light with which they are illuminated are reflected in the waters of the Leuvehaven. Willemswerf, a tall white building (92 m high), contains the offices of Nedlloyd.
