The fishing port is still very lively. The two inner basins (binnenhavens) contain coasters, ferry-boats providing a link with England (Great Yarmouth), pleasure boats and a flotilla of trawlers. An obelisk is a reminder of the place from where William I left for England (November 1813) to take possession of the throne.
