Sittard : Michelin's recommendations
Sittard received its city Charter in 1243. It was a much fought over stronghold. A large part of the town is still surrounded by ramparts. It is a commercial and industrial town (chemicals, electrical engineering, Volvo cars). The town is also well-known for its carnival.
