This museum has a rich section on painting and the decorative arts from Utrecht and its surrounding area. Some furnished rooms are dedicated to the decorative arts in the years 1625, 1750 and 1975. Gold and silversmiths’ work, a dolls' house from the 17C, the Rietveld Collection and contemporary design form the permanent exhibition. The historic paintings section has works by J van Scorel and painters from the Utrecht School. Miffy the Rabbit’s creator is remembered in the Dick Bruna House opposite.
