Westkapelle : Michelin's recommendations

A family seaside resort, Westkapelle enjoys a south facing beach. The lighthouse is on top of the belfry of the old Gothic church, which disappeared in a fire. The town is located at the easternmost point of the old island of Walcheren, where the dunes resist the currents with the help of dykes . The one with the highest crest stands 7m above sea-level. In 1944, bombing by the Allies caused the island to flood and drove out the Germans.
