  Pros

  The relaxed quiet setting, the friendly service. The quality of the meat and freshness of the vegetables. The friandises served with the coffee were just great! We also loved the large assortment of wines by the glass. We had an aperitif, tuna fish (with a Spätburgunder rosé from Kühling-Gillot) and pasta with clams (with a Argentinian Torrontés) and then a tournedos (with a glass of Château Bouteilley). We paid 125 euro, we think it was reasonable for the quality offered (no overpriced water)

  Cons

  The white wines were not a happy match with the starters (and we should have known better): a too fruity Torontés and a too heavy Spätburgunder rosé. The red Bordeaux was OK. The tuna was nicely raw inside, but the “caviar with Râs al hânout” and saffran (?) mayonaise were too bland and the acid-sweet cucumber blew all other tastes away. The duxelles of smoked (!) mushrooms accompanying the tournedos was harsh, the sauce was so so, the presentation of the plate was a bit messy. Hmmm...

  Kwaliteit eten.

  -Demonstratief op tafel geplaatste (lauwe) flessen Chaudfontaine om aan te geven dat een karaf tafelwater niet de bedoeling is. Voor 1 liter plat water werd de niet al te platte prijs van 10,50 gefactureerd. "goede kwaliteit voor een bescheiden prijs" betreft blijkbaar niet het water en een "Bib d'eau" is ver weg. -Ongevraagd werd te vroeg overgeschakeld op de (bestelde) rode wijn terwijl bij een aantal gerechten nog duidelijk wit van toepassing was. Dit ongevraagd en geforceerd overschakelen bleek om te verdoezelen dat een extra fles van onze witte wijn niet meer voorradig was. De (geringe) meerprijs van de vervanger werd gewoon gefactureerd. -De dagvis heeft op de kaart geen meerprijs maar er werd wel 3,- extra gefactureerd. -Bediening plaatste regelmatig gerechten bij personen die deze niet besteld hadden. Kortom: Jammer dat de kwaliteit van de keuken geen gelijke tred houdt met fouten in de zaal.
