This museum occupies the precise spot where Division General James M. Gavin landed on September 17, 1944 with 82 parachute troopers. Original films, photographs and models illustrate the events before, during and after the war. The accent is on the Market Garden operation (sound and light on a model in relief). In the cupola of honour (the Erekoepel), in the form of a stylized parachute, is located the Roll of Honor where the names of the 1800American soldiers who died at Nimègue are recorded.
