The tiny mountain village of Andahuaylillas hides a jewel of Baroque architecture, worth a trip in its own right. Built by the Jesuits in the 17C, the façade of San Pedro Church conceals an interior of unprecedented wealth and ornamentation… Altarpieces, paintings and multicoloured frescoes adorn every square centimetre of the walls, while the Mudejar-style ceiling glitters in gold.
