Celendín : Michelin's recommendations

With the exception of the second fortnight of July, when the Virgen del Carmen festival takes place, Celendín is a relatively sleepy little town. Do a spot of shopping at the Sunday market, before boarding a bus along the Chachapoyas route, through the Cordillera Central. A 230km-long road will unveil high passes and abrupt valleys of such stunning beauty that it would be a crime to miss.
