Chosica is a pleasant town whose high altitude makes it a very popular resort with the city folk in winter. The sun shines practically all year round. Its charm lies primarily in its immense, shaded Plaza de Armas, off which a pedestrian street lined by fountains leads to a gigantic statue of Christ. The nearby parques recreacionales (leisure clubs) and country restaurants are extremely popular with the capital's inhabitants who come here to enjoy the peaceful green setting they so lack during the week.
