Start at the vibrant San Pedro market and buy some local snacks as you explore the street markets of Cusco. Then head out of town to explore 4 major Inca sites: Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.
The adventure begins in front of the San Pedro church at 9:00am where you'll head on over to the San Pedro Market. In the company of your English speaking guide, you'll learn about the market's history as you explore rows of local produce, colorful fabrics, flower vendors and shaman stalls. The people of Cusco will not shy away, so be ready for some welcoming, yet entertaining local interaction.
From the bustling San Pedro market, you'll be taken to the nearby serene Inca ruins. You'll get to to visit the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman. This fortress hosts walls up to 400m long made out of boulders weighing from 128 - 200 tonnes. Your tour will continue to take you to various other Inca ruins including Qenko, a major Inca ceremonial and ritual ground and Puca Pucara, a military construction once part of the defense system of the Inca Empire. Your final stop will be at Tambomachay also known as the "Bath of the Inca" in Spanish. It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals and waterfalls that run through terraced rocks.
