Abutting a steep hillside, San Blas, once an Incan neighbourhood of Totocachi where the nobility lived, is today the most picturesque and romantic district of Cuzco. Its lanes are paved with well-polished slabs of stone, a tumbling maze of tiny whitewashed cottages whose doors and shutters are painted bright blue, bustling craft workshops, painting and sculpture workshops, as well as bohemian cafés and bars. Take the time to wander around the delightful little square of San Blas and its church.
