A great favourite with Peruvian tourists, Pastoruri is one of the most accessible glaciers south of Huaraz and is popular all year round for skiing, snowboarding or just playing in the snow. The road goes over Pachacoto bridge and through the Carpa zone, climbing afterwards to the Huaropasca pass (4780m), at the foot of the Nevado Pastoruri, before continuing on to Huallanca. Every year in June, skiing competitions take place during the Andes Week.
