The tomb of Francisco Pizarro, famous Spanish conquistador, lies behind the handsome baroque façade of Lima's cathedral (17C). During your visit, also pause to admire the elegantly carved chancel, entirely covered in gold leaf. The edifice, which has undergone many modifications following the various earthquakes that have shaken the city, is also home to a Museum of Religious Art.
