Drawn on the red pampas soil between 900BC and 500AD, the geoglyphs of Nazca remain one of the greatest enigmas of archaeology. Only visible from the sky, these huge drawings depict living and imaginary creatures, stylised plants and geometric shapes. They form a patchwork that is spread over some 450km². Who drew them? Artists or geologists? How and why? Were they in some way related to astronomy, agriculture or religion? Whatever the answer, a flight over the Nazca Lines is a fabulous experience.
