The location of the Cahuachi ruins, not far from the Nazca Lines, together with the size and nature of the edifices found have led historians to think that this site was probably a major ceremonial centre, where the Nazcas regularly came to pay homage to their Gods. Numerous mounds, squares, remains of pyramids and adobe structures are visible, however the vast majority of the site's edifices still remain hidden under the sand.
