Pucallpa : Michelin's recommendations

Pucallpa, built on the banks of the Río Ucayli, the main tributary of the Amazon, is a tumultuous town made up for the most part of makeshift constructions. To immerse yourself in its ambience, head down to the port (Peru's leading exporter of Amazonian wood) or to the Plaza de Armas, meeting place of all the town's merchants (including Indians who sell beautiful crafts). If you need a break from the lively town, Yarinacocha lagoon (7km away) is ideal for fishing, boating or even water skiing.
