A multitude of tiny artificial floating islands, built out of bits of wood, reeds, plants and roots from the lake, are the home to the families of these islands. Such is the amazing sight that confronts the visitor on arriving at the Uros Islands. The inhabitants grow vegetables and go fishing and hunting, and today, tourism provides their main source of income through the sale of reed objects. A totally unique experience and atmosphere.
