For those who may not feel like a strenuous trek, there is another way of admiring practically the whole length of the cordillera (170km) without burning all your calories in one go! Just go to the top of the Punta Callán (alt. 4210m), a pass over which the Casma road will take you over the Cordillera Negra to the west. It commands one of the most fantastic views of the Cordillera Blanca and the Callejón de Huaylas.
