The urban sector of Machu Picchu provides a fascinating insight into the organisation of the Incans. The commoners, craftsmen, nobility and prisoners all lived in a different well-defined zone of the town. The Inca was housed in the royal palace, in the area set aside for worship, made up of several temples, among which the Sun temple, Main temple and Three-window temple. A stroll round these amazingly well-preserved constructions is very moving and it isn't difficult to imagine the Incas going about their daily lives here.
