Your excursion on the Dunajec River offers a unique way to see some of the most amazing scenery of the Polish highlands. Highly experienced river guides make sure you have a smooth ride in the large wooden punt. The voyage down the winding Dunajec River offers breathtaking views of mighty limestone cliffs plunging into the water as well as stunning native vegetation and animals—the cliffs and all native species are part of the second oldest national park in the world, and are considered protected. Your guides will relate stories of the local sites and histories of the area as you make your way along the river.
After your ride down the river, you'll have a chance to visit Niedzica Castle. Originally built in the 14th century the castle now stands over a large water reservoir and impressive dam built in the 1990s. While visiting the castle you can admire the delightful view over the artificial lake and learn an amazing story of Inca refugees who found shelter there. After touring the castle, sit back for an approximately 9 1/2-mile (15 km) tour from the wharf in Sromowce Ni¿ne to Szczawnica.
