Wisloujscie Fortress Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Controlling access to the Vistula estuary (and consequently to the whole of Poland!), which ships had to enter to reach Gdansk, this fine fortress lapped by water was originally a tower-lighthouse (1482), around which were built fortifications in 1572 that were reinforced between 1584 and 1587 by Anton van Obberghen. The sea was then much closer. The fortress (a 20min walk from the road) is currently undergoing extensive restoration.
