Jewish Historical Institute (ZIH) Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

A visit to the ZIH is an excellent introduction to the tragic history of Warsaw’s Jewish communities. Established after the Second World War, it has two permanent exhibitions, one on Jewish art, the other on the Warsaw Ghetto. On the site of the Blue Tower (Peugeot Tower) once stood the Great Synagogue, one of the world’s largest at the time. It seems extraordinary that the communist authorities should have chosen to erect an office block on such a poignant site.
