Pros
Hello! The Pieniny mountains consist mainly of the limestone rocks not chalk and the highest point rises around 534 m above the Dunajec river level which is 982 m above sea level (Trzy Korony peak). The place is really worth seeing. There are beautiful tourist trails with stunning views on the top of the mountain ridges. So one can admire the Pieniny mountains from inside (the gorge by boat) and from the top (on foot). Not far from Katy there is an artificial lake - Czorsztynskie Lake - with two medieval castles on the banks (Niedzica and Czorsztyn) - I recommend visiting them! If you look for accomodation, no problem, you'll find it easly in Niedzica, Czorsztyn (near castles) or Szczawnica (some hotels). There are also good restaurants in the area (for example restauracja Dwor on the way from Niedzica to Sromowce and Lysa).
