The Beskids divide into two ranges of medium-altitude mountains. The first, the Beskides Sadecki, follow a vertical line from Nowy Sacz to Ktynica on the Slovakian border. Tourists enjoy its spa resorts, colourful architecture and undulating landscape. To the east lie the Beskides Niski, lying between Nowy Sacz and Krosno in the north and running south to the Slovakian border. Its wooden religious buildings are its primary attraction. Krynica is the most interesting base for visitors.
