Arraiolos : Michelin's recommendations

This is a beautiful town, perched on a hill in the wide plain of Alentejo, well-known for its rugs. At the foot of the 14C castle, the streets are flanked by houses with white facades heightened by the blue frames of their doors and windows. Rugs of cross point embroidered wool on linen or hemp backgrounds have been made there since the second half of the 17C.
