This church, built prior to the castle and remodelled in the 16C, has some interesting Romanesque elements, including a baptismal font, frescoes on the altar and older frescoes on the right wall. Inside the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, built in the 14C, you can see a throne chair and a multicoloured Pieta carved from a single block of granite. Historiated capitals evoke the heroic deeds of Fernão Cabral I, the navigator's father.
