First you arrive at a charming square home to the Fonte da Villa, a beautiful Renaissance fountain made of granite. Then you are able to wander around the steep narrow lanes located at the foot of the castle that are bordered by lime washed houses with Gothic doors. Where the road leading up to the castle crosses with a side road, you will notice the medieval synagogue which evokes the quarter's rich past.
