Roman temple Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

This Corinthian-style temple, built in the 2C, was probably devoted to Diana. The capitals and the bases are made of Estremoz marble, and the bodies of the columns are made of granite. Its longevity owes much to its conversion into a fortress during the Middle Ages, and abandonment a century later.

    Der tempel lag auf unserem Weg während eines Abendspaziergangs durch Évora. Im Licht der untergehenden Sonne stellt sich der Tempel in wunderschönen warmen Farben dar. Er ist recht gut erhalten und an einem Platz gelegen, der von gut restaurierten Gebäuden umsäumt ist. Insgsamt ein sehenswertes Ambiente.
