Water from the aqueduct flows into this reservoir, housed in a building completed in 1834. Inside, is a waterfall and an Arca da Água (water arch basin) 7m deep with a capacity of 5 500cu m. Beside the building is the station where the levels were recorded for the water to be channelled to the city's fountains. Nowadays, it is used for exhibitions and concerts.
