The museum, which is situated opposite the Belém Cultural Centre, is all that remains of the 1940 Portuguese World Exhibition. Although explanations are rather brief, the museum has an interesting collection of traditional objects, utensils, crockery, furniture, costumes, accessories and rugs, as well as a collection of carts from the different provinces of Portugal. A room is set aside for temporary exhibitions.
