The former 18C arsenal on the banks of the Tagus has preserved its outstanding woodwork as well as azulejos and interesting ceilings mainly illustrating battle scenes. Models, paintings and in particular numerous local and foreign weapons from the 16 to the late 19C, some manufactured here, recall Portugal's military past.
