This beautiful hunting lodge, built by João Mascarenhas, the first Marquess of Fronteira, in 1670, shows a strong Italian Renaissance influence, particularly in the gardens. The quality and variety of the azulejos, covering every conceivable flat surface, are outstanding: those in the Victory Room depict the War of Restoration, 17C Delft tiles adorn the dining room and, outside, the bestiary adds a humorous note.

    Un endroit charmant loin des sentiers battus une visite guidée agreáble, de magnifiques jardins, un endroit intime pas encore tombé dans le tourisme de masse le taxi ne coute rien pour s'y rendre
