Lisbon is still an important port of call in Europe. The port stretches for some 20km along the Tagus from Algés to Sacavem and the Lisnave shipyard can accommodate the largest oil tankers. The passenger port is located at Rocha do Conde de Óbidos. The old docks, situated between the Tagus and Avenida 24 de Julho are the site of popular bars and discotheques where Lisbon's young set burn the midnight oil on Fridays and Saturdays!
