This belvedere is named after a Portuguese poet, nick-named "the little Camoens" (1772-1806), who praised the merits of Madeira. There is a beautiful view over Machico and São Lourenço points.

At the crossroads of the Portela pass (662m above sea-level), make your way up to the belvedere. It dominates the green valley of Machico.
